APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Submit your application 3 to 4 weeks before travelling

A separate application is needed for each person ( regardless of age )

Passport holders from 48 countries ( full list available at The Royal Thai Embassy London website ) are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand, provided conditions can be satisfied; please see Visa Exemption on Types of Visa page.

Tourist Visas are for tourism purposes only. Applicants are not permitted to enter Thailand on a Tourist Visa if the purpose of travel is for; volunteer work, business, study, attending a conference or business meeting.

 

Step 1

– Complete and sign one application form

– A separate form is required for each traveller regardless of age, including babies

Step 2

Submit with a completed application form;

– Passport in good condition, valid for at least six months from date of arrival in Thailand

– Two recent passport size photographs, stapled to top right of application form

– The appropriate fee in euros (see Step 4)

– A self-addressed envelope, with sufficient postage for the return of your passport by registered post

Step 3

– Ensure all evidence substantiating your purpose of stay is submitted along with your application

Step 4

– Visa fees should be in the form of cash or a postal order and should be in euros only

– All postal orders should be made payable to the Royal Thai Consulate Ireland

Single Entry Tourist Visa:;€35.00

Multiple Entry Tourist Visa: €145.00

Single Entry Non-Immigrant Visa: €65.00

Step 5

To avoid delay processing visas it is important to follow these instructions;

– You must supply a self addressed envelope with sufficient postage in order for your passport to be returned to you by registered post. Remove covers from passports as they increase weight and therefore cost in postage- 2 or more passports will require additional postage.

– Franked SAE’s which have postage coupons instead of stamps will not be accepted

– Applicants from North of Ireland should note that payment must be in euro and must include additional payment to cover postage for the return of your passport

– Apply for your visa about 3-4 weeks before the date of your departure

– Please allow at least 5 working days for a Single Tourist Visa to be processed

– Applications for Multiple Entry Tourist  Visas and Non-Immigrant Visas must be approved by The Royal Thai Embassy London before they can be issued. Please allow at least 2 weeks for processing

– No responsibility can be accepted for financial loss associated with the application for a visa

– Be sure you will not need your passport while your visa application is being processed

Please note applications may be delivered to the Consulate reception at any time during Consulate hours. If your application is urgent and you require a meeting with a Consulate Officer, please contact the office to make an appointment. Visas will not be issued while you wait.
